Synopsis | Willem Hoekstra will explore the impact of Emerging Technologies on Operational Resilience and Business Continuity (OpRes/BC).
The first challenge is that standards and definitions for OpRes/BC vary significantly between jurisdictions, industry organizations and even ISO-sections. Emerging technologies like cloud computing, IoT, and blockchain offer significant benefits, but also introduce new dependencies and risks. The question remains whether traditional BC approaches and/or more recent OpRes methods can meet these challenges. AI, in particular, affects OpRes/BC in multiple ways. If AI is used for critical business services, OpRes/BC must be ensured. Conversely, AI can help identify priorities and develop OpRes/BC solutions where needed. In the end, AI won’t eliminate all jobs, but it will shift the landscape from roles without AI to those with AI. |
