KC Tam is the founder of LedgerTech Ltd, providing consulting and education services on blockchain topics in the past four years. His main role is to help his clients understand what blockchain is and how blockchain brings values to their business. Besides, he is a part-time lecturer in SCOPE City University of Hong Kong, teaching a certificate class on blockchain application development. The first one is vaccine passport. There are several initiatives under development across the world aiming to resume the business after the pandemic. The success relies heavily on the system credibility with protection of data privacy. We will see how the blockchain helps to make this happen.

Another use case is the decentralized finance, known as DeFi. Finance services are something around us in daily life, like opening a bank account, trading shares in exchange, or making a loan from a licensed money lender. Today they are provided by institutions under regulatory governance. With blockchain these services are now available in decentralized manner. We will first take a look in some elements in the ecosystems, such as tokens, stablecoins, non-fungible tokens, before examining some DeFi systems.
